The signature piano of a legendary family
Henry’s son William was one of the great visionaries of his era, and revolutionised the company’s business and marketing techniques.
His son Theodore worked tirelessly to preserve the piano’s distinctive quality and the family’s renowned reputation.
In 1955, Henry Ziegler Steinway, great grandson of the company’s founder, became the last family member to lead the firm, and helped to make the greatest family piano brand in history shine brighter than ever. To commemorate his 91st birthday, and the enduring contribution of the Steinway family to the world of music, this magnificent limited edition piano was created. Like all Steinway & Sons pianos, this timeless instrument combines extraordinary beauty with incomparable sound and touch, and will become a beloved family treasure for generations to come.
Only a limited number of these historic pianos were made available in a choice of Ebony or East Indian Rosewood. Each handmade masterpiece features distinctive period details, and is personally signed by Henry Z. Steinway.
Each instrument bears a brass medallion honouring the four generations of Steinway Leaders: Henry E., William, Theodore and Henry Z.
